Access and see your bill

If you are a current Carthage student and would like to see specific information about your account, please log into the Workday system. You can access payment options in the NelNet system, including payment by ACH, credit card, or payment plans. 

Do you need access to pay a student’s account?

Students can authorize parents, family members, and others to access their Nelnet accounts to see balances, view financial aid packages, and make payments. To give access to an authorized user, students must follow the following steps:

  • Log into Workday and select the Finances tab, then click on the NelNet link. The first time students log into NelNet, they will need to create an account. 
  • In the lower right-hand corner, click “Add authorized user.”
  • Fill in the person’s information. 
  • This will give the authorized user on-demand access to view and pay bills directly.

  • Fall tuition due: July 26, 2024
  • Spring tuition due: January 3, 2025

Make a Payment

There are several ways to satisfy an outstanding balance on a student account:

Nelnet logo PAY ONLINE

Students have the ability to submit payments online through the Nelnet system in Workday. To access this option, students should log in to the Workday system, select the Finances tab, then click on the NelNet link.

On this page, students will have the option of making a payment in full, making a partial payment to pay down the balance, setting up a payment plan, or requesting a refund. The option to request a refund will only appear if a refund exists.

PAY IN PERSON

Students can visit the Red Desk in the Office of Student Financial Services, located in Lentz Hall Room 403, and make a payment by cash or check.

MAIL IN YOUR PAYMENT

Payments should be addressed to The Office of Student Financial Services, 2001 Alford Park Drive, Kenosha, WI. It is important that the student’s name and ID number accompany the check.

PAY BY PAYMENT PLAN

Students can make payments to Carthage College through a payment plan through their Nelnet account. Available payment plans are flexible to suit different family needs and can be found on NelNet in the Workday portal.

To set up a payment plan in Workday, select the Finances tab, then click on the NelNet link. From this page, students can select “Payment Plan,” which will connect students to their bill and the ability to create their payment plan. Students who are setting up their payment plan for the first time will need to register first before creating their payment plan.


Credit Balance Request

A credit balance results when the total credits posted to a student’s account exceed the total charges applied to the account for a specific term or semester. Students may choose to apply their credit balance to a subsequent term or receive a refund. Carthage College is required to obtain permission to hold any such credit balance to be applied to a subsequent term or semester. In the case of a PLUS loan, the refund will go to the parent unless otherwise specified on the PLUS application.

To initiate a refund request, students should log into their Nelnet account in the Workday system, select the “Finances” tab, then click on the NelNet link. For refunds, students should follow the instructions in the Nelnet system on the lower left-hand corner of the page. Credit balances appear as a negative number on the Nelnet homepage.
