Carthage students have a strong track record in nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, funding a wide range of global learning, cultural ambassadorship, and discipline-specific research.

The Fulbright Fellowship is a prestigious award from the U.S. State Department that funds students for one year of research or to teach English in any of the dozens of countries worldwide. Students live abroad, becoming part of their host community, and learning about the lives of the people they meet.

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program, funded by the US Congress and German legislatures, provides one-year cultural exchange placements for 75 Americans in German host communities, and 75 Germans in US host communities. CBYX includes funding for advanced German language classes, coursework at a German university, and an internship in an organization related to the recipient’s career area.
