Animation Minor Requirements
Carthage offers a minor in animation. Students must complete the Carthage Core, Distribution Requirements, their major requirements, and the minor requirements listed below.
The Animation Minor
The minor consists of six courses (24 credits), four required and two electives.

- ART 2750 4D (4 credits)
- ART 2800 Animation (4 credits)
- ART 3700 Advanced 4D (4 credits)
- ART 3800 Advanced Animation (4 credits)
- CDM 1925 Basic Adobe Creative Cloud (4 credits)
- CDM 1950 Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud (4 credits)
- CDM 2600 New Media Theory and Aesthetics (4 credits)
- CDM 2750 History of Film: From the Nickelodeon to Netflix (4 credits)
- CSC 1100 Introduction to Computing (4 credits)
- CSC 1810 Principles of Computer Science (4 credits)
- CSC 2710 Game Development I (4 credits)
- CSC 3770 Computer Graphics (4 credits)
Any course taken may only count for one course and may not count in two categories. For students majoring in studio art, art education, photography, communication, graphic design, or public relations, overlap between majors and minors must be at or below 50 percent.
