Learn about STEM internships at Argonne National Laboratory Nov. 7
Learn about student programs at Argonne National Laboratory during an information session at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in room 95 of the David A. Straz Jr. Center.
Argonne National Laboratory is one of the 17 United States Department of Energy National Laboratories. Located in the Chicago area, Argonne is a multidisciplinary lab where scientists and engineers work together to answer the world’s biggest questions. With state-of-the-art user facilities and collaborations with other universities, industries, and national labs, Argonne can tackle questions too large for single institutions to take on. Argonne accelerates science and technology for U.S. prosperity and security, with current initiatives ranging from incorporating AI into science all the way to climate action.
Argonne offers a range of student programs, including seasonal internships, student employment, and visiting student programs. All programs are available fully on site, hybrid, or fully virtual.
Carissa Kiehl ’25, senior physics major at Carthage and current Argonne student STEM ambassador, will present information about the student programs at Argonne. In addition, she will talk about her own experience in the Argonne visiting student program over the summer 2024.
