Eight engineering and physics students attended the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) National Conference, WE24, on Oct. 24-26 in Chicago. They were accompanied by Kathryn Hasz, Carthage engineering professor and SWE faculty advisor.

Nine people wearing lanyards. Students engaged in the career fair, sessions, and workshops, which provided them with networking opportunities, career insights, and new connections with industry leaders in engineering and innovation.  

SWE is a “not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in engineering and be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career for women through an exciting array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships alongside outreach and advocacy activities.” SWE was founded in 1950 and includes over 40,000 collegiate and professional members with 300+ collegiate member sections and 100+ professional member sections.
