This travel course will offer a first-hand opportunity to study Tanzanian society and culture. Traveling across northern Tanzania, you will have the opportunity to immerse in the abundantly diverse social, cultural, religious, and natural surroundings of Tanzania through:

Formal discussions with Tanzanian college/university professors, students, and religious leaders.
Interaction with amazing local people.
Visiting contemporary sites that illustrate the great social, cultural, and religious abundance of Tanzania including churches, mosques, temples, marketplaces, museums, and schools.
Participating in indigenous music and dance.
Embarking on an amazing two-day/one-night game viewing trip covering the two most popular safari destinations in Tanzania. Tarangire is known for its congregating herds of elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, monkeys, Thompson’s gazelles, impalas, elands, Bohor Reedbucks, and various kinds of birds. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact caldera (often referred to as Eighth Wonder).
Doing volunteer work at a chosen site, and relaxing at the world’s most beautiful beaches on the Indian Ocean.

Students will visit the cities of Arusha and Moshi and nearby villages located at the lush foothills of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. We will then travel to the bustling Indian Ocean coastal city of Dar es Salaam and over the Spice Island of Zanzibar — the birthplace of Freddie Mercury. Optional private activities include a dolphin tour, blue safari, snorkeling, and deep-sea fishing.
